After updating my desktop application to Lync 2013 and a mistake from IT team, some AD user accounts including mine we’re erased (yes i konw it, DRP’s, backups, etc, etc) someone in the office said we have enough consultants to restore everything 😀 bad practices 😦
Well, the problem was that after recreating my AD user account and enabled it for Lync Services, as i expected all my contacts were gone, there was no other choice. So i started recreating my contact list by searching in the address book but, as it is a new client version, all the registry key changes(GalDownloadInitialDelay) and the SIP folder where Galcontacts.db file is stored do not apply to Lync 2013 because they are different, so here they are:

reg add HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync /v GalDownloadInitialDelay /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
Just for the record, Lync 2013 hasn’t change the way it manage the address book files download compared to the 2010 client, as these pictures show both clients download the same files.
